Work Experience with Handmade Theatre working on making puppets and props for their devised show Are We Nearly There Yet? all about different types of travel. We focused on making a dog and bird puppet, made out of found materials and a lot of hessian to fit in with the asthetic of the company. We also made small props where needed like clouds for the steam train and signs to decorate the waiting area as well as merchandise keyrings and badges. We also helped to spruce up their touring van with drawings that related to thier previous shows and bunting. This work experience was a lot of fun and helped to give an insight into what touring childrens theatre is all about. this show went on to play at a lot of festivals, such as splendour, and plahy in school and village halls. Many audience members spoke about how much they loved the dog puppet as he was such a fun and loveable character which really came across in the making of him.
